Joan Goldstein, Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Economic Development, and Lisa Groeneveld, Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Vermont-based Logic Supply, were featured on Bloomberg Markets to discuss Vermont’s efforts to close the labor gap.
In the segment, the guests discuss Governor Phil Scott’s proposed $3.2 million recruitment and relocation initiative, currently being considered by the Vermont Legislature. The initiative aims to incentivize in-migration of talent to the state, in part, by offering assistance with housing and relocation costs. The program would specifically target workers with a connection to the state—whether they grew up here, went to school here, or vacationed here.
Goldstein and Groeneveld also comment on Vermont’s growing tech scene and the state’s efforts to bridge the gender pay gap, led by companies like Logic Supply, which has an open salary policy, among other innovative company benefits.
