Vermont is home to a number of innovative small businesses, led by owners who are consistently finding new ways to modernize and transform. One company – Mamava, owned by Sascha Mayer and Christine Dodson – is a prime example, recently winning 2018 Vermont Small Business Person of the Year awards.
Founded in 2013, Mamava designs and manufactures free-standing lactation suites for nursing mothers. The company now has 20 employees and recently launched a new miniature version of the pod.
“We’re so excited. We think Mamava really deserves it. And most of all, the moms that made it happen really deserve it,” said Mayer to WCAX. “It solves the problem in office settings. And we also have a mobile app where moms can find our lactation suites and rooms across the country.”
Mayer and Dodson were recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration for employment growth, financial success, expansion and community involvement.
