Frank Dell’Amore’s nationally acclaimed Dell’Amore Premium Marinara Sauce evokes the sights and smells of his grandmother’s immigrant life in World War I era Brooklyn. In fact, a photo of her adorns every jar of sauce he makes. Frank’s own journey began when he opened Filomena’s Pizza on Riverside Avenue in Burlington in 1980. There he perfected his delicious sauce, put it up himself, and sold it to local grocery stores. Before long he closed the restaurant, and after a stint producing sauce in Barre, opened a production facility in Colchester, from which the company now sells to 30 states. Distributors and large chains like Costco are his primary customers, but direct sales online are fast increasing. What makes his business such a success? Personal touch.
