Vermonter and skier-turned-entrepreneur Corinne Prevot started her hugely successful ski wear company Skida while a student athlete at Burke Mountain Academy in 2008. Fast forward ten years, and the company is now selling 100K+ units a year out of their downtown Burlington production facility and retail store. They’ve even found time to give back. Inspired by a customer request, Prevot launched the Skida Plus One program in 2011, which donates one hat to a cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy for every hat sold online with a corresponding promotional code. Skida currently works with about 10 cancer centers across the country and has donated more than 1,000 hats.
Like the competitive skier she is, Prevot attributes her success to the tenacity and hard work it takes to succeed on the slopes.
